Railway Safety Review Committee: RBE No.207/2000 – Accident Enquiry

Sub: Report of the Railway Safety Review Committee (Part-I) 1998 – Capsule on “How to conduct accident enquiries”  – Recommendation No.5.6.

The Railway Safety Review Committee (1998) have recommended that training courses for officers and supervisors should contain a capsule on “How to conduct accident enquiries”.

The recommendation has been accepted by Railway Board and the Railway Administration alongwith Railway Staff College, Vadodara are directed that henceforth the above capsule should form part of:-

(a)   the Refresher Courses conducted for the Senior Supervisors (SSEs) of the following departments:-

(i) Mechanical;

(ii) S&T;

(ii) Civil;

(iv) Traffic;

(b)   Group ‘A’ Foundation Programme (AFP) and Management Development Programme (MDP) for Group ‘A’ officers; and

(c)    Group ‘B’ Foundation Programme (BFP) for Group ‘B’ officers.

A module of 2 working days on the subject is enclosed for immediate implementation.
