Sub:  Percentage of posts of Shroffs on Railways.

1.     A doubt has been raised as to whether orders contained in Board’s letter No.E(P&A)-70/FE-4/12, dated 20.11.1970 are still in force in the light of changed circumstances, keeping especially in view extant orders banning creation/ up-gradation of posts.

2.     The matter has been carefully considered by the Board and it has been decided that with the issue of orders under Board’s letter No.E(NG)I-82/PM1-20, dated 11.07.1984 and 11.03.1985 (RBE No.75/1985) and PCIII/84/UPG/19, dated 25.06.1985, Board’s earlier orders of 30.11.1970, referred to above are no longer relevant and have, therefore, ceased to be in force. Past cases dealt with, otherwise, need not be re-opened.

3.     This has the sanction of the President and issues with the concurrence of the Finance Directorate of the Department of Railways.
