RBE No. 86/1995: Recruitment – Upper Age Limit

Sub: Raising of upper age limit for direct recruitment to Group ‘C’ and Group ‘D’ categories on the Railways.

1. Attention is invited to Board’s letter of even number dated 15.07.1994 (RBE No. 57/1994) on the above subject wherein it was laid down that the upper age limit for direct recruitment of Group ‘C’ and Group ‘D’ categories including engagement of casual labour and substitute on the Railway should be set at two years above the then existing limits.
2. The Ministry of Railway (Railway Board) have now decided that, in supersession of the Board’s letter dated 15.07.1994 (RBE No. 57/1994) cited above, the upper age limit for direct recruitment in all Group ‘C’ and Group ‘D’ categories including engagement of casual labour and substitute on the Railways to be notified during the next two years with effect from the date of issue of this letter, should be set at 5 (five) years above the limits that existed prior to the issue of the Board’s letter dated 15.07.1994 (RBE No. 57/1994) cited above.
