Sub: Amendment to IREM.

1. Reference this Ministry’s letter of even number dated 10.06.1999 (RBE No. 136/1999) forwarding Advance Correction Slip No.80 incorporating Para 126-A regarding Switchmen, in the Indian Railway Establishment Manual, Volume-I, (1989 Edition).
2. While incorporating provision regarding upper age limit vide sub-para 2(ii) of the Advance Correction Slip ibid the policy circulated vide this Ministry’s letter No.E(NG)II-94/RR1/29, dated 10.05.1999 (RBE No. 99/1999) enhancing the prescribed upper age limit for recruitment to all Group ‘C’ and ‘D’ posts by two years on regular basis, was not taken into account inadvertently. Accordingly, the upper age limit of ‘25’ years shown in para 2(ii) of newly introduced para 126-A may now be corrected to read as ‘27’ years.
3. The Indian Railway Establishment Manual, Volume-I, (Revised Edition 1989) may also be amended accordingly as per Advance Correction Slip No.89 sent herewith.

In sub-para 2(ii) of Para 126-A introduced vide ACS No.80 substitute “27” years for the existing upper age limit of “25” years.
