Sub: Age relaxation to the residents of the State of Jammu & Kashmir.
1. Kindly refer to this Ministry’s letter of even number dated 19.06.1997 (RBE No.92/1997), forwarding therewith a copy of the Notification No.15012/7/91 Estt.(D), dated 10.04.1997 issued by Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions (Dept. of Personnel & Training) on the subject quoted above.
2. Department of Personnel & Training have issued a further notification of same number dated 27.12.1999, extending the relaxation of age limit in favour of the residents of the State of Jammu & Kashmir for appointment to Central Civil Services and Posts for a further period of two years beyond 31.12.1999, i.e. upto 31.12.2001. A copy of the same is enclosed for guidance and compliance.

NOTIFICATION
G.S.R…..(E) …… In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to article 309 and clause (5) of article 148 of the Constitution, and after consultation with the Comptroller and Auditor General of India in relation to the persons serving in the Indian Audit and Accounts Department, the President hereby makes the following rules to amend the Residents of the State of Jammu and Kashmir (Relaxation of Upper Age Limit for Recruitment to Central Civil Services and Posts) Rules, 1997, namely :-
1. (i) These rules may be called the Residents of the State of Jammu and Kashmir (Relaxation of Upper Age Limit for Recruitment to Central Civil Services and Posts) Amendment Rules, 1999.
(ii) They shall come into force on the date oftheir publication in the Official Gazette.
2. In sub-rule (3) of rule 1 of the Residents of Jammu and Kashmir (Relaxation of Upper Age Limit for Recruitment to Central Civil Services and Posts) Rules, 1997, for the figures “1999”, the figures “2001” shall be substituted.
