RBE No.33/2006: Special Casual Leave – Special Passes – Kailash Mansarovar Yatra

Sub: Grant of Special Casual Leave and issue of Special Passes to Railway servants for participation in the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra.

1. Reference is invited to this Ministry’s letter Nos.E(W)89SP1-5, dated 02.02.1990 (RBE No. 21/1990) and E(W)96PS5-14/8, dated 11.06.1997 regarding grant of Special Casual Leave and issue of Special Passes to Railway servants for participation in Mountaineering and Tracking expeditions.
2. The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra has been recognized as a Trekking expedition by the Indian Mountaineering Foundation (IMF). It has, therefore, been decided by the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra (organized by the Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi), may be granted Special Casual Leave and issued Special Passes, as per their entitlements in terms of the Railway Servants (Pass) Rules, 1986 (Second Edition – 1993) and as laid down in this Ministry’s letter referred to in para 1 above.
3. These instructions are effective from 01.04.2005.
4. This issues with the concurrence of Finance Directorate of the Ministry of Railways.
