RBE No. 75/2008: Recruitment – Senior P. Way Supervisor

Sub: Educational qualification for direct recruitment to the category of Senior P. Way Supervisor in the pay scale of Rs.5000-8000 on the Railways.
Attention is invited to Board’s letter of even number dated 15.01.2008 (RBE No. 05/2008), wherein, qualification for direct recruitment to the category of Senior P. Way Supervisor in the pay scale of Rs.5000-8000 has been prescribed as Diploma in Engineering or B.Sc. with Physics & Mathematics or B.Sc. (Honours) in Physics with Mathematics as secondary/ subsidiary subject or B.Sc. (Honours) in Maths with Physics as secondary/subsidiary subject.
Confirmation has been sought for by one of the Railway Recruitment Boards whether the Diploma in Engineering cited in the qualification above may be construed as Diploma in Civil Engineering.
The matter has been examined in consultation with Civil Engineering Directorate of this Ministry and it has now been decided that henceforth Diploma in Engineering appearing in para 2 of letter dated 15.01.2008 (RBE No. 05/2008) may be read as Diploma in Civil Engineering/ Civil Engineering (Transportation).
