RBE No. 72/2008: Honorarium – For Secret Ballot Polling Duty

Sub: Honorarium to officer/ staff deployed on polling duty for conducting Secret Ballot.
Board vide their letter of even number dated 31.10.2007 (RBE No. 142/2007) had issued instructions for payment of honorarium to staff/ officers specified therein, who were deployed for conducting the Secret Ballot on 26th, 27th and 28th November, 2007, to grant recognition to the Railway Trade Unions.
References were received from the various Railways, that services of Staff/ Officers, RPF personnel, etc. other than those specified in the letter dated 31.10.2007 (RBE No. 142/2007) cited above were also utilized for the conduct of the Secret Ballot, and that they should also be suitably remunerated for the efforts put in by them.
The matter has been examined by the Board and it has been decided that such of the staff/ officers/ RPF personnel, whose services were utilized for the conduct of the Secret Ballot may be suitably rewarded by the General Managers under their powers, as considered appropriate.
This issues with the concurrence of the Finance Directorate of the Ministry of Railways.
