RBE No. 63/2008: Railway accommodation – Retention

Sub: Retention of Railway accommodation at the previous place of posting in favour of officers/ staff posted to EC, NW, SW & WC Railways.
In terms of Board’s letter No.E(G)2007 QR1-5, dated 08.08.2007 (RBE No. 103/2007), Railway officers/ staff, on their posting to South Western, East Central, North Western & West Central Railways were permitted retention of Railway quarters at their previous place of posting upto 30.11.2007, 31.12.2007, 31.08.2007 and 31.12.2007, respectively, on payment of normal license fee.
On requests made by these New Zones, Railway Board have further reviewed the matter and have decided that the facility of retention of Railway accommodation at the previous place of posting in favour of the Officers/ Staff posted to New Zones of South Western, East Central, North Western & West Central Railways may be uniformly extended upto 31.03.2008. Retention of accommodation beyond March, 2008 as is permitted under normal rules of transfer shall also be admissible. No further extension beyond March, 2008 will be permitted.
This issues with the concurrence of Finance Directorate of the Ministry of Railways.
