RBE No. 17/2006: Honorarium – Payment of

Sub: Budget/expenditure management – Economy measures, rationalization of expenditure – Restrictions on expenditure on payment of honorarium.

Instructions have been received from Ministry of Finance, Department of Expenditure stressing the need for observance of austerity in Government expenditure and rationalization thereof.
The instructions, inter alia, provide that the expenditure incurred on the payment of honorarium to the offices/ staff should be restricted in 2005-06 to the average of the actual expenditure incurred in 2002-03, 2003-04 and 2004-05 through appropriate economy measures.
Necessary action may please be taken to ensure strict compliance of the aforesaid directions of the Government.
This issues with the concurrence of the Finance Directorate of the Ministry of Railways.
