RBE No. 16/2006: Quarters – Retention – IRCTC Staff

Sub: Retention of Railway Accommodation at the previous place of posting in favour of officers/staff on deputation to the Indian Railway Catering And Tourism Corporation Ltd. (IRCTC).

In terms of the policy contained in Railway Board’s letter No.E(G)2000 QR1-23, dated 01.06.2001 (RBE No.100/2001), Railway Officers/ Staff on deputation to IRCTC were permitted to retain Railway accommodation for a period of five years from the date of incorporation of IRCTC, i.e. from 27.09.1999 to 26.09.2004 vide Board’s letter of even number dated 12.04.2002 (RBE No. 48/2002) subject to payment of rent as a specified in the said letter. The period of retention was further extended for a period of for one year from 27.09.2004 to 26.09.2005 vide Railway Board’s letter of even number dated 01.09.2004 (RBE No. 193/2004).
IRCTC have requested the Railway Board for grant of further permission to retain Railway accommodation in favour of deputationist officers/ staff to IRCTC. This matter was considered in full Board meeting held on 29.12.2005 wherein it has been decided to extend the permission for retention of Railway accommodation in favour of Railway employees posted on deputation to IRCTC for a further period of two years from 27.09.2005 to 26.09.2007 on the terms and conditions laid down in Railway Board’s letter dated 12.04.2002, ibid.
This issues with the concurrence of Finance Directorate of the Ministry of Railways.
