RBE No. 107/2006: Lab Assistant Grade-II – Recruitment

Sub: Treatment of Certificate Course in Medical Lab. Technology at par with Diploma in Medical Lab Technology.

Please refer to the instructions contained in Board’s letter No.E(NG)II-2001/RR-1/20, dated 12.11.2001 (RBE No.  225/2001) prescribing the qualification of Matriculation with Science plus Diploma  in Medical Lab. Technology (DMLT) for direct recruitment to the posts of Lab Assistant Grade-II in the pay scale of Rs.3200-4900.

A demand from All India Railwaymen’s Federation (AIRF) for treating Certificate Course in Lab Technology equivalent to Diploma Course in Medical Lab. Technology has been under consideration of this Ministry. After detailed examination of the matter in consultation with Health Directorate of this Ministry and deliberations in the PNM meeting with AIRF, it has now been decided to treat Certificate Course in Medical Lab. Technology at par with Diploma in Medical Lab. Technology (DMLT) subject to the fulfillment of the underlying conditions:

(i)    The course has been done from an Institution which is recognized by a University or the Technical Board of Government/ State Government/ Central Government Authority.

(ii)    The duration of the course is at least one year.

(iii)   During the course, the candidate should have done the training on full time basis.

(iv)   At the end of the course, there should be a system of examination which has been successfully passed by the candidate.
