RBE No. 08/2006: Quarters – Retention – KRCL Staff

Sub: Retention of Railway accommodation (Quarters) at the previous place of posting in favour of Railway officers/staff on deputation to KRCL exclusively for Udhampur-Shrinagar-Baramula Rail link (USBRL) project and actually serving in that area with HQ at project site.

Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL), who have been entrusted with construction of a portion of the Udhampur-Shrinagar-Baramula Rail link (USBRL) project (Katra to Laole Km.32 to Km.120), have requested the Railway Board for grant of permission to retain Railway accommodation at the previous place of posting in favour of Railway Officers/ staff, who are on deputation to KRCL and are posted at the Project site at par with Railway Officers/ Staff deputed to IRCON for the project. KRCL had also pointed out that the site of the project is not hospitable and has, inter alia, adverse working conditions.
Railway Board in their Meeting held on 23.12.2005 have considered the request of KRCL and have decided to permit grant of permission for retention of Railway accommodation at the previous place of posting in favour of Railway employees who are on deputation to KRCL exclusively for the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link Project (Katra to Laole portion) and actually serving in the area of Project site with Headquarters there till the period they are posted at the project site or the completion of the project, whichever is earlier, on payment of normal rent.
This issues with the concurrence of the Finance Directorate of the Ministry of Railways.
