Line Boxes: RBE No.124/1986 – For Drivers, Guards and Brakesmen

Sub: Provision of Line Boxes for Drivers, Guards and Brakesmen.

Ref: Instructions contained in Board’s letter No.E(G) 74 AL1-9, dated 31.07.1980 on the above subject.

The Department of Railways have, pursuant to the discussions in the PNM Meeting held between the NFIR and the Railway Board examined the matter and decided that the initial payment of Rs.80 towards cost of the Line Boxes should be made as against the prevalent cost of Rs.60 to Drivers, Guards and Brakesmen as prescribed under Board’s letter No.E(G)74 AL1-9, dated 31.07.1980.

This would be in addition to the supply of the standardised Air Bags once every three years to the Guards and Drivers for carrying their personal effects while on duty in terms of Board’s Wireless Message No.85 Safety-I 10/1/2, dated 20.05.1985.

This has the sanction of the President and issues with the concurrence of the Finance Directorate of the Department of Railways, Ministry of Transport.
