Dress Regulations: RBE No.142/1986 – Catering Establishments

Sub: Uniforms to Railway Staff – Revision of Dress Regulations – Static/Mobile Catering Establishments.

CIRCULAR LETTER No.13

1.     In continuation of instructions contained in their letter No.E(W)85 UN1-4, dated 13.02.1986 (Circular Letter No.12) (RBE No.32/1986); Department of Railways desire to make further changes in the Dress Regulations as under:

(i)    The staff under Group No.41A (Bearer, Waiter, Server) of State Catering Establishments are to be supplied with terrycot uniforms as prescribed for staff covered under Group 41B, at the scale of 4 sets (4 coats, 4 trousers and 4 caps) once in 2 years for Summer, there being no change in the scale of supply for Winter;

(ii)    In respect of staff (Bearer, Waiter and Server) of Mobile Catering Establishments covered under Group 41B of the Dress Regulations, the scale of supply is to be increased from the existing 4 sets of bluish grey terrycot Uniform once in 2 years, as under:

(a)     6 sets for the first year and 2 sets each in the subsequent years,

(b)     In case of such staff whose services are utilised regularly in long distance trains which take 3 or more days in one trip, they are to be supplied 2 more sets i.e. 8 sets in all initially for the first year, and for the subsequent years, the scale of supply remaining unchanged i.e. 2 sets per year.

2.     Department of Railways (Railway Board) further desire that the above revision will come into force after the validity period of the existing supply is over and material in stock, if any, is exhausted.

3.     This issues with the Concurrence of the Finance Directorate of the Department of Railways.
