Cycle (Maintenance) Allowance: RBE No.115/2008 – Revision of Rates

Sub: Cycle (Maintenance) Allowance – Recommendations of the Sixth Central Pay Commission – Revision of rates.

1.     Consequent upon the decisions taken by the Government on the recommendations of the Sixth Central Pay Commission related to the above mentioned allowance and in supersession of Board’s letter No.F(E)I/93/AL-7/1, dated 04.08.1993 (RBE No.117/1993), the President is pleased to revise the rate of Cycle (Maintenance) Allowance from Rs.30 to Rs.60 per month. The terms and conditions as contained in Railway Ministry’s decision below Rule 1606 of IREC (Vol.II) – 2005 Edition for grant of this allowance will remain unchanged.

2.     The rate of this allowance will be increased by 25% whenever the Dearness Allowance payable on the revised pay scale goes up by 50%.

3.     These orders will be effective from September 01, 2008.
