Break in Service: RBE No.53/1986 – Condonation

Sub:   Condonation of break in service.

1.     In continuation of Board’s letter of even number dated 06.04.1985 (RBE No.97/1985) on the above subject as further clarified on 03.07.1985, and in pursuance of decisions reached in the PNM meeting with A.I.R.F. on 11th and 12th December, 1985, sanction of the President is hereby communicated to the condonation of break in service in case of those employees retiring subsequent to 06.04.1985 in whose case break in service was imposed upto February 1981, such period of break being treated as dies-non, subject to the condition that the post-break service in such cases is satisfactory without involving any further breaks of service.

2.     This may not be quoted as precedent and the above decision, in no way should be taken as a departure from the general policy laid down for condonation of break in service.

3.     This issues with the concurrence of the Finance Directorate of Department of Railways in the Ministry of Transport.
