Sub: Condonation of break-in-service.

1. Railways are aware that on account of break-in-service for their participation in strikes, work stoppage, bandh, etc. the retirement dues of certain employees have not been settled or settled on the basis of post-break period of service only. In order to mitigate hardships to the retired Railway employees, the sanction of the President is hereby communicated to the condonation of break-in-service in case of those employees in whose case the break-in-service was imposed upto February, 1981 and who have since retired from service; such period of break maybe treated as dies-non. This however, is subject to the condition that the post-break service in such cases is satisfactory without involving any further breaks of the above nature.

2. This issues with the concurrence of the Finance Directorate of Ministry of Railways.
