Awards: RBE No.121/1986 – Acceptance from Rotary Clubs

Sub:   Acceptance of awards by Railway employees from Rotary Clubs and other private bodies.

Cases have come to the notice of the Railway Board wherein certain private organizations including Rotary Clubs have approached the Railway Administrations offering awards to different categories of railway employees.

The matter has been examined in consultation with the Department of Personnel & Training. It has been decided that as a settled policy, Government servants are not permitted to accept the awards from any private organization in token appreciation of meritorious performances. The Department of Railways (Railway Board), therefore, desire that the above decision of the Government may please be kept in view for guidance and necessary action.
