Sub:  Fixation of pay of Principal Private Secretaries of Railway Board Secretariat Stenographers Service promoted to the post of Senior Principal Private Secretary.

1.     Consequent upon the recommendations of V Central Pay Commission, 10 posts of Principal Private Secretary of RBSSS in the pay scale of Rs.10,000-15,200 have been upgraded as Senior Principal Private Secretary in the pay scale of Rs.12,000-16,500. The President is pleased to decide that in case of promotion of PPS of RBSSS to the post of Sr.PPS, a minimum increase in basic pay of Rs.650 p.m. may be granted and their pay shall be fixed as indicated in Para 2 below.

2.     The pay in such cases shall be fixed at the higher of the two amounts indicated below:

(i) The minimum of the time scale of the Senior PPS of RBSSS; and

(ii) The stage in the time scale of the Senior PPS of RBSSS equal to the pay of officer in grade of PPS of RBSSS plus Rs.650 p.m., or if there is no such stage, at the next higher stage.

3.     The President is also pleased to decide that in the case of officers officiatng in grade of Sr.PPS of RBSSS on an enhancement of their substantive pay in the grade of PPS of RBSSS as a result of increment or otherwise, the offciating pay of officers in the grade of Sr.PPS shall be re-fixed in accordance with the above provisions if such a re-fixation is to their advantage.

4.     These orders shall apply to all cases of promotions of PPS of RBSSS to the grade of Sr.PPS made on or after 25^th January, 1999.
