Sub: Railway Board’s Report on the Indian Railways for 1985-86 Labour Welfare.

For the preparation of the above report) the Department of Railways desire that detailed information in regard to the following subjects relating to Labour Welfare may be furnished to them (in duplicate) as indicated below

(I) STAFF BENEFIT FUND:

(1)   (a) Constitution and composition of , the Staff Benefit Fund Committee (to be given in brief)

(b) Brief account, of the various schemes and activities financed out, of the Fund

(i)   Education

(ii) Recreation & Amusement

(iii) Relief to distressed and sickness benefits

(iv) Sports

(v) Scouting

(vi)          Recreation – Supervisory Staff and Gazetted Officers

(2)   Statement of Income & Expenditure (to be furnished in the proforma at Annexure

(II) INSTITUTES AND CLUBS:

(1)   A brief account of the working of the Institutes and Clubs may be furnished.

(2)   Information should also be furnished as in the following proforma:-

(i)   (a) Number of Railway Institutes as on 31.03.1985 and 31.03.1986

(b) Total membership

(ii) (a) Number of Recreation Clubs and Reading Rooms

(b) Total membership

(iii)    (a) Number of Officers’ Clubs

(b) Total membership vis-a-vis Officers’ Strength.

(3)   Any addition/ deletion of Railway Institutes/ Recreation Clubs and Reading Rooms/ Officers’ Clubs and their location during the year may be furnished.

(III)     SCHOLARSHIPS FOR TECHNICAL EDUCATION:

The number of scholarships awarded during 1985-86 to the Children of Railway employees for the prosecution of Technical Education and the total expenditure incurred in respect thereof from the Staff Benefit Fund should be furnished in the following proforma:-

(a)   Number of scholarships continuing from the previous years,

(b)   Number of scholarships awarded during 1985-86 vis-a-vis allotment made by this office;

(c)    Total expenditure incurred on (a) &.(b) separately.

(Against item (a) & (b), the number of recepients –belonging Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes may be given separately).

(IV) MOBILE LIBRARIES:

A brief account of the working of Mobile Libraries may be given which functioned during the year 1985-86.

Addition/ deletions of Sections on which the Mobile Libraries are functioning made during the year and their names may be given.

(V)   VOCATIONAL TRAINING CENTRES:

A brief account of such Training Centres for employees and their children/ wards, if any, be given with requisite details regarding location, courses of training being imparted etc.

(VI)      HANDICRAFT CENTRES:

A brief account of handicraft centres may be given, which functioned during the year 1985-86. Information should also be furnished in the following proforma:-

(a)   Total number of Handicrafts Centres

(b)   Total number of members of Railwaymen’s families who attended during the year

(c)    Average monthly income per member

Any addition/ deletion made during the year be specifically given.

(VII) HOMEOPATHIC, DISPENSARIES/ OTHER NON-ALLOPATHIC DISPENSARIES, IF ANY:

A brief account of the working of Homeopathic and other Non-Allopathic dispensaries may be furnished. Information in the following proforma may also be furnished:-

(a)   Total number of dispensaries (full time and part time separately) and date of their opening

(b)   Place at which the dispensaries opened during the year

(d)   Date of opening of the dispensary.

(VIII) MISCELLANEOUS:

(1)   A brief account of activities of

(a) Social Welfare Centres

(b) Mahila Samities

(c) Kalamandirs etc. be given Addition/ deletion made during the year in respect of the above be given specifically.

(2)   Any other matter not covered by the detailed heads Mentioned above, may be brought out under this head.

The details required above may please be furnished as early as possible, but not later than 15.01.1986.
