Transfer: RBE No.239/1998 – Group ‘D’ staff to Workshops Against 40% Quota

Sub: Transfer of Group ‘D’ staff of other departments to Workshops against 40% quota on bottom seniority.

1. As Railways are aware 40% of Group ‘D’ vacancies in the Workshops are to be filled from amongst Group ‘D’ staff of other departments on bottom seniority upto the upper age limit of 33 years.

1.1   Further, 10% of the vacancies in Group ‘D’ in the Workshops with 50% of seniority and the upper age limit of 35 years are to be filled by induction of Gangmen Khalasis and Safaiwalas of all departments.

2.     In the PNM/AIRF meeting held on 23.09.1998 the Federation pointed out that Group ‘D’ Staff selected for transfer to Workshops against the quotas as mentioned above are not spared for one reason or the other.

3.     The matter has been considered by the Board who desire that the Group ‘D’ staff  once selected for transfer to Workshops should be spared for carrying out the transfer as soon as orders to this effect are issued and received by the concerned Authorities as any delay in the release of concerned staff in time causes loss of seniority to the concerned staff.
