Transfer: Group ‘B’ Officer to New Unit on Bottom Seniority

Sub: Transfer of Group ‘B’ officers to another zone on bottom seniority – reckoning of Group ‘B’ service rendered in previous unit.

A question has arisen whether in cases of transfer of Group ‘B’ officers from one Railway Unit to another on bottom seniority, the Group ‘B’ service rendered by such officers in the previous unit can be reckoned for the purpose of further promotion in the new Unit.

The matter has been examined and it has been decided that the service rendered by such officers in Group ‘B’ in the previous unit, may be reckoned for the purpose of further promotion in the new unit, to the extent it does not exceed the Group ‘B’ service of his immediate senior in the new unit.
