Sub: Creation of L/R posts of Telephone Operators.

Reference correspondence resting with your letter No.P/S&T/45/LR/KGP/TO, dated 03.03.1983, on the above noted subject.

The question with regard to treating the Telephone Operators as ‘operational staff’ for the purpose of revision of Leave Reserve percentage has been under consideration of the Board for quite some time. After careful consideration of the matter and also keeping in view the need for economy in administrative expenditure ban on creation of new posts, it has been decided that the percentage of leave reserve, as is presently in operation on the Zonal Railways, may be allowed to continue and no change is called for.
