Special Passes: RBE No.129/1986 – On Sports Account

Sub: Issue of special passes on Sports account to dependents of railway employees when called to participate in reception etc. held in their honour.

Ref: Board’s Letter of even No. dated 11.11.1985.

1.     In terms of Ministry of Railways’ Letter of even No. dated 11.11.1985 (RBE No.311/1985) referred to above, dependents/ family members of railway employees who are selected to participate in the Coaching Camps/ Tournaments to represent railways at the national level meets, when sponsored by the Railway Sports Control Board, are given special passes of the class to which the railway employees are themselves eligible no privilege account under the Pass Rules. It was represented that dependents/ family members of such railway employees, who participate and bring laurels as a result of their participation in national level tournaments etc., when called for reception to honour them, may also be issued passes on sports account as admissible to serving railway employees who are invited to attend similar functions organized by the Railway Sports Control Board. Department of Railways, after carefully considering the matter, have decided that such dependents/ family members of railway employees may be issued passes on Sports Account of the class to which the railway employees themselves are entitled an privilege account under the railway Pass Rules.

2.     This issues with the concurrence of the Finance Directorate of the Department of Railways.
