Selection: Within Gp. ‘C’ & Gp. ‘C’ to Gp. ‘B’

Sub: Selection for promotion within Group ‘C’ and from Group ‘C’ to Group ‘B’ – Inclusion of Questions on Official Language policy and Rules in Examinations forming part of selection.

Ref:  Board’s letter No.Hindi-81/OL-14/12, dated 14.01.1982.

In terms of Board’s letter No.Hindi-81/OL-14/12, dated 14.01.1982, instructions have been issued regarding inclusion of questions on Official Language policy and Rules in Departmental Examinatious held for promotions within Group ‘C’ and from Group ‘C’ to Group ‘B’ posts. These instructions inter-alia provide that 10% of the total marks allotted for testing the professional ability should be set apart for questions on Official Language policy and Official Language Rules. In partial modification to these instructions, it has now been decided that so far as selections held for promotion from ‘C’ to Group ‘B’ posts is concerned,  15 marks out of a total of 150 marks should be set apart for questions on Official Language policy and Official Language Rules. There is no change in other provisions.

This issues in consultation with the Establishment Directorate.
