RBE No. 97/2006: Promotion – Running Staff

Sub: Promotion of Running Staff to Group ‘B’ posts.

1.     During discussions in the last PNM meeting with NFIR, the Federation has brought to the notice of the Board that on many Railways, Drivers and Guards are not being considered eligible for promotion to the Group ‘B’ posts of AME/ AEE/ AOM and are, therefore, not being included at all in the integrated seniority lists prepared by the Railways for 70% selection to the aforesaid posts.

2.     Board, therefore, desires to clarify, in continuation of Board’s letter of even number dated 02.06.2006 (RBE No. 68/2006), that since Drivers and Guards are eligible for promotion to the concerned Group ‘B’ posts mentioned above in terms of the Recruitment Rules for these posts, Drivers and Guards should be included in the integrated seniority lists prepared by the Railways for 70% selection to the Group ‘B’ posts of AME/ AEE/ AOM.
