RBE No. 84/2018: Retention of Railway accommodation – Jammu-Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla project

Sub: Retention of Railway accommodation at the previous place of posting in favour of the officers/ staff posted to Jammu-Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla project.

1. In terms of Board’s letter No.E(G)2001 QR1-14, dated 27.09.2010 (RBE No. 142/2010) and 14.12.2012 (RBE No. 145/2012), retention of Railway accommodation at the previous place of posting in favour of officers/staff posted to Jammu-Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla project was permitted upto March, 2018.
2. The matter has been considered by the Board in exercise of powers vested with the full Board for making reasonable relaxations in Public Interest in all or any of the existing provisions regarding allotment/retention of Railway quarters and charging the rent therefore for a class/group of employees, in continuation of Board’s letter under reference the Board have now decided that the officers and staff posted at Jammu-Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla project may be permitted to retain Railway accommodation at their previous place of posting on normal rent upto March, 2023 or completion of the project, whichever is earlier.
3. This issue with the concurrence of Finance Directorate of the Ministry of Railways.
