RBE No. 81/2013: Track Maintainers – Promotion

Sub: Norms/ procedure for future Promotion in the unified cadre of Track Maintainers.
1. Railway Board vide letter No.2010/CE-I(Spl)/GNS/15(Pt.), dated 17.08.2012 (RBE No. 91/2012) have issued instructions for restructuring/ reorganizing staffing pattern of Trackmen on Indian Railways. In para 2 of letter ibid it was indicated that instructions regarding norms/ procedure for future promotion in the unified cadre of Track Maintainers will be issued by the Establishment Directorate separately.
2. Accordingly, it has been decided that existing eligibility conditions as applicable to the erstwhile category of Trackmen/ Trollymen/ Gatemen/ Watchmen/ Keymen in Civil Engineering Department (P. Way) in PB-1, Grade Pay Rs.1800 would continue to apply for future promotion show the newly created cadre of Track Maintainers (Grade-III, II & I).
2.1 As regards the mode of promotion in the unified cadre of Track Maintainers the following principle may be adhered to:-

3. All other conditions applicable for promotion to next grade will also hold good for this cadre.
4. The above instructions will come into effect from the date of issue of this letter.

I got Chief OS promotion on 6/3/2017and I didn’t get any increment and no grade pay also rs 4800 but only transfer to Tuticorin and Srivaikuntam from tirunelveli. No benefit since received iii acp that too on 2008 sixthpc. In seventh PC pay fixed in 4600 as 66000 only on 8th month of 2016. And on 3rd 2017 got promoted ch OS no benefit pl clarify whether I may get one increment I am due to retire on 4th 2020
