RBE No. 81/2006: Hostels – Revised Boarding Charges

Sub: Railway Subsidised Hostels – Revision of rates of recovery.

Ref:  Board’s letter No.E(W)98/ED-2/11, dated 30.03.2001 (RBE No. 66/2001).

1. In partial modification of the instructions contained in their letter No.E(W)53/ED/1/3 Pt.A, dated 19.08.1958 as amended from time to time, the Ministry of Railways (Railway Board) have decided that the existing rates of recovery communicated vide Board’s letter under reference be revised as under:-

Pay ranges in Revised Scales		Rates of boarding charges recoverable per month from each border
A	Upto Rs.3300 p.m.	Rs.100
B	Rs.3301 to Rs.4400 p.m.	Rs.150
C	Rs.4401 to Rs.5500	Rs.225
D	Rs.5501 p.m. and above	Rs.360

2.     The existing rate of Rs.25 per Boarder for the catering items is revised as Rs.30 per Boarder.

3.     The revised orders will be effective from 01.04.2006 and will be in force for a period of 5 years i.e., upto 31.03.2011.

4.     This issues with the concurrence of Finance Directorate of Ministry of Railways.
