RBE No. 51/2007: Ad-hoc Promotion – Group ‘B’ Posts – Assistant Library Officers

Sub: Ad-hoc promotion to Group ‘B’ post of Assistant Library and Information Officer in scale Rs.6500-10500.

1. In terms of Board’s letter No.PC-IV/90/Imp/3, dated 02.05.1996 (RBE No. 41/1996) the incumbents to the post of Assistant Library and Information Officer were given the revised pay scale of Rs.2000-3500 (now 6500-10500) subject to their fulfilling the conditions laid down under Board’s letter No.PC-IV/90/Imp/3, dated 12.10.1992 (RBE No. 170/1992).

2. Pending finalization of Recruitment Rules in consultation with UPSC, it has been decided by the Board that the Group ‘B’ post of Assistant Library and Information Officer in scale Rs.6500-10500 may be filled up on ad-hoc basis through the normal selection process, which includes viva-voce and assessment of record of service, from among the Library and Information Assistants (Rs.5500-9000) with 3 years’ regular service in the grade and degree from a recognized University or equivalent and also degree in Library Science from a recognized University or equivalent.
