Ref: Your (RSC/BPL’s) DO letter No.RSC/BPL/Pre-Exam/Computerisation, dated 28.11.1984.

In terms of the existing delegation of powers, Chairman, Railway Service Commissions have full powers to meet the expenditure in connection with contingencies. The expenditure in connection with computerization falls under the head and the expenditure may be incurred by you under your own powers, with concurrence of your FA&CAO in consultation with the Sr. EDPM for computer part.
As it is the Board’s policy to encourage computerization of as many operations of the recruitment process as possible, Board’s prior approval for undertaking computerisation through private agencies or Railway network is not necessary.
