RBE No. 327/1987: Family Pension – Unmarried Daughters

No.F(E)III/85/PN-1/19, dated 09.03.1987

Sub: Raising the age limit from 24 to 30 years for the purpose of entitlement of family Pension for the unmarried daughters of Railway servants.

Reference this Ministry’s letter of even number dated 09.07.1986 on the above subject. Certain doubts have been raised about the date of applicability of above orders dated 09.07.1986. The matter has been examined in consultation with the Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare and it is clarified that the above orders are effective from 21.05.1986. Unmarried daughters of the Railway employees who ceased to receive Family Pension on completion of 24 years of age prior to 21.05.1986 are not eligible to the grant of Family Pension.

(This disposes of Western Railway’s letter No.E(S)789/6 Vol.II, dated 13.11.1986).
