RBE No.292/1998: GDCE – Extension of scheme

Sub: Introduction of General Departmental Competitive Examination (GDCE) for filling up 25% direct recruitment vacancies in certain Group ‘C’ categories.
Ref: Board’s letter of even number dated 20.08.1993 (RBE No.129/1993) and 12.09.1995 (RBE No.100/1995) and 01.03.1996 (RBE No.19/1996), 31.01.1997 (RBE No.21/1997) and 18.12.1997 (RBE No.184/1997) on the above subject.

1. The scheme of General Departmental Competitive Examination introduced vide Board’s letter of even number dated 20.08.1993 (RBE No.129/1993) was last extended upto 31.12.1998 vide their letter of the same number dated 18.12.1997 (RBE No.184/1997) as an interim measure, pending feedback called from the Railways for review of the scheme.
2. The Board have decided that the scheme may be extended further upto 31.12.1999, as an interim measure.
