Sub: Appointment on Compassionate Grounds – Clarifications – regarding.

Attention is invited to this Ministry’s letters No.E(NG)II/99/RC-1/Gen./3/PNM-AIRF, dated 28.04.1999 (RBE No. 84/1999), and No.E(NG)II/2001/RC-1/Gen./II, dated 21.09.2001 (RBE No. 192/2001), stipulating therein, the provision for giving additional chance to a candidates and widows respectively, for appearing in the suitability test for appointment on compassionate grounds to Group ‘C’ post on Railways.
All India Railwaymen’s Federation, in the PNM Meeting with Railway Board held on 23.02.2012, have raised a demand (Item No.09/2012) for giving multiple chances to widows/ wards to appear in the suitability test for Group ‘C’ posts. In supersession of stipulation made vide letters ibid, the Board after due consideration have decided that one more chance be given to Widows/ wards by the Railway with the personal approval of the General Manager, not to be delegated further.
