Sub: Appointments on Compassionate Ground – Suitability Test for Group ‘C’ post.

1. Please refer to instructions contained in Board’s letter No.E(NG)II/99/RC-1/Gen/3 PNM-AIRF, dated 28.04.1999 (RBE No. 84/1999), regarding the procedure to be followed for assessing the suitability of a candidate for appointment on compassionate ground in Group ‘C’ post.
2. The matter regarding third chance being given to a Railway employee’s widow to appear in the suitability test for appointment on compassionate ground in Group ‘C’ post, in the event of the widow having been declared unfit in the second chance, came up for discussion in the recent of PNM Meeting held with AIRF at Board’s level.
3. After due consideration the Board have decided that in deserving cases where circumstances so warrant a third chance may be given to a widow to appear in the suitability test with General Manager’s approval. The General Manager under his discretionary powers should personally consider each case on merits.
