RBE No. 214/1998: Power Controllers

Sub: Scheme for filling up the posts of Loco Running Supervisors (Loco Inspectors and Power Controllers/ Crew Controllers).
1. In terms of para (d) of the instructions contained in Board’s letter of even number dated 09.01.1998 (RBE No. 09/1998). Drivers drafted to perform the duties hitherto being performed by Power/ Crew Controllers, are eligible for payment of allowance in lieu of kilometreage of 120 kms per day at the rates applicable to them, even if posted at their headquarters.
2. It has come to Board’s notice that there is lack of clarity in the Railways regarding the number of days in a month for which allowance in lieu of kilometreage in terms of the above provisions is to be allowed. It is clarified that allowance in lieu of kilometreage to the concerned staff in terms of para 2(d) of the above letter dated 09.01.1998 (RBE No. 09/1998) is to be paid for all days in a month without any deduction on the non-working days.
3. This issues with the concurrence of the Finance Directorate of the Ministry of Railways.
