RBE No. 204/1990: Minor Penalties – Clause (iii-a)

Sub: Railway Servants (Discipline and Appeal) Amendment Rules, 1990.

GSR ………. In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to Article 309 of the Constitution, the President hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Railway Servants (Discipline and Appeal) Rules, 1968, namely;

1.     (a)   The rules may be called the Railway Servants (Discipline and Appeal) Rules, 1990.

(b)   They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. 

2.     In Rule 6 of Railway Servants (Discipline and Appeal) Rules, 1968, under the sub-heading ‘Minor Penalties’ after clause (iii-a), the following clause shall be introduced, namely:-

“(iii-a) Reduction to a lower stage in the time scale of pay for a period not exceeding three years, without cumulative effect and not adversely affecting his pension.”
