RBE No. 203/2008: Promotion – Group ‘B’ – Assistant Personnel Officer (APO)

Sub: Promotion from Group ‘C’ to Group ‘B’ – Conditions of eligibility for promotion to the post of Assistant Personnel Officer.
Ref: Railway Board’s letter No.E(GP)86/2/61, dated 10/11.01.1990 and, 22.12.1992, and letters No.E(GP)99/2/22, dated 22.07.2004 (RBE No. 146/2004) and 18.11.2004 (RBE No. 239/2004).

 

1. In terms of instructions contained in Board’s letter of even number dated 18.11.2004 Group ‘C’ employees with the 3 years of non-fortuitous service in the Grade of Rs.5500-9000 are eligible for being considered for selection to 70% quota of Group ‘B’ posts of Assistant Personnel Officer.
2. Consequent upon implementation of the pay scales recommended by the VI Pay Commission, the matter regarding eligibility conditions for promotion to Group ‘B’ post of Asstt. Personnel Officer has been considered by the Board and it has been decided that employees working in Pay Band PB-2 (Rs.9300-34800) with Grade Pay of Rs.4200 and in higher Group ‘C’ scales will be eligible to appear for Group ‘B’ selections for the post of Asstt. Personnel Officer, against 70% quota, provided they have rendered not less than 3 years of non-fortuitous service in the Grade.
