Sub: National Holiday Allowance – Recommendation of VIth CPC – Revision of rates.
1. In pursuance of the decision taken by the Government on the recommendations of the Sixth Central Pay Commission relating to revision of allowances specific to Ministries, the President is pleased to revise the rates of National Holiday Allowance as under:-

2. The rates of this allowance will be increased by 25% whenever the Dearness Allowance payable on the revised pay structure goes up by 50%.
3. These orders will be effective from September 01, 2008.
4. The other terms and conditions as contained in Board’s letter No.E(P&A)I-97/HL/2, dated 18.02.1998 for grant of this allowance shall remain unchanged.
5. This issues with the concurrence of the Finance Directorate of the Ministry of Railways.
