RBE No. 186/2008: Sports – Women Cricket

Sub: Sports norms for recruitment of sportspersons on Indian Railways against sports quota in the game of Cricket.
Ref: Board’s policy letter No.E(Sports)2007/Policy/3, dated 30.03.2007 (RBE No. 48/2007).
1. Please refer to Para 4.3(e) of Board’s policy letter mentioned above regarding sports norms for recruitment of sportspersons on Indian Railways against sports quota in the game of Cricket (Men & Women).
2. The format of domestic tournaments in Women Cricket has been changed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), after taking over the Women Cricket activities from the Women Cricket Association of India. Railway Board have therefore revised the sports norms for Women Cricket and as per the revised format the following tournaments and sports achievements in Women Cricket shall be considered for recruitment in Group-C and Group-D:-

3. Board have also decided to delete “Note” below para 4.3(e) of Board’s policy letter dated 30.03.2007 (RBE No. 48/2007) referred above. Therefore, henceforth, as per the provisions made under para 9 of Board’s said policy letter; all the sports achievements as mentioned in para 4.3(e), including sports achievements mentioned in pre-para, shall be considered for granting incentives to Indian Railways sportspersons.
