RBE No. 17/2007: Travelling Allowance – For Representing Service Associations

Sub: TA/DA to Railway servants representing Service Associations invited by Sixth Central Pay Commission for oral evidence.

 

1. Board have decided that the Railway servants representing Service Associations invited by VIth Pay Commission to tender oral evidence before the Commission shall be granted Travelling Allowance as on tour under the rules applicable to them for journey performed by them in that connection. The expenditure on Travelling Allowance will be debited to the Head of Account to which the pay and allowances of Railway servants concerned are debited
2. It has also been decided that the minimum period required for attending tendering evidence and for performing the ‘to and fro’ journeys shall be treated as on duty in respect of the Railway Servants who are granted TA/DA under paragraph 1 above.
3. After a Railway servant has tendered evidence before the Commission, he will be given a certificate by the Commission indicating the number of days (with dates) for which he was he was required to stay at the place at which evidence was taken by the Commission. The Railway servant should attach that certificate to his TA/DA claim.
4. These orders would take effect from 01.01.2007.
