Sub:     Railway Services (Revised Pay) Rules, 2008 – Schedules for Revised Scales of Pay.

1. In continuation to Annexure ‘B’ of Schedule circulated vide Ministry of Railways’ letter No.PC-VI/2008/I/RSRP/1, dated 11.09.2008 (S.No.PC-VI/2) (RBE No. 108/2008) as further amended vide this Ministry’s letter of even number dated 22.09.2008 (S.No.PC-VI/18) (RBE No. 124/2008), the President is pleased to decide that the following may be inserted as indicated against each, in the said letters:-

Important:  See notes (1) to (4) of the end of Annexure – ‘B’ to the Ministry of Railways’ letter of even number dated 11.09.2008 (RBE No. 108/2008) and note (5) as inserted vide letter of even number dated 22.09.2008 (RBE No. 124/2008).

Notes: The following notes should be inserted as Notes (6 to 8 below existing notes 1 to 5) of the end of annexure ‘B’ to the Ministry of Railways’ letter of even number dated 11.09.2008 (RBE No. 108/2008) as modified vide letter of even number dated 22.09.2008 (RBE No. 124/2008).

(6)        As decided by the Government, the recommendations of 6th CPC regarding revised pay scale of Master Craftsman (Sr. Technician) in the Railways is to be referred to Fast Track Committee and pending decision of the Government normal replacement pay structure (viz. PB-2; GP Rs.4200) would apply. Thus above category/ existing Master Craftsmen (Sr. Technician) would continue to be separate from that of Jr. Engineers in identical revised pay structure, as per the position already existing.

(7)        Sr. P. Way Supervisors in existing scale Rs.5000-8000 would continue as a separate category in normal replacement pay structure (PB-2, GP Rs.4200) till further orders to be issued by the Ministry of Railways.

(8)   The revised pay structure of combatised RPF/RPSF staff, as recommended by 6th CPC, has already been notified vide S.No.13 of Annexure ‘B’ of this Ministry’s letter of even number dated 11.09.2008
(RBE No. 108/2008)
. The Artisan staff of RPF/RPSF will be allotted normal replacement pay structure as indicated in Annexure ‘A’ (First Schedule) of Ministry of Railways’ letter of even number dated 11.09.2008 (RBE No. 108/2008).

(Recommendations of 6th CPC on pay scales for certain other categories are under examination. Pending decision, the normal replacement pay structure as in the First Schedule would apply).
