Sub: Discontinuation of Border Area Allowance to the Railway employees serving on the International Border of Rajasthan – Implementation of recommendation of the Sixth Central Pay Commission.

Consequent upon the decision taken by the Government on the recommendations of the Sixth Central Pay Commission circulated vide Ministry of Finance (Deptt. of Expenditure) OM No.13(1)/2008-E.II.B, dated 29.08.2008 relating to Border Area Allowance, Ministry of Railways in modification of their letter No.E(G)95/AL 12-2, dated 21.06.1999 (RBE No. 138/1999) have decided to discontinue the Border Area Allowance w.e.f. September 1, 2008.

This has the sanction of the President and issues with the concurrence of the Finance Directorate of the ministry of Railways.
