RBE No. 146/2006: LAP – Railway School teachers

Sub: Grant of LAP to Railway School teachers/ staff under Rule 525(3) of IREC Vol.I for scouts & guides activities.

1.     The issue regarding extending the benefit of Rule 525(3) of IREC Vol.I, fifth edition 1985 (second reprint edition – 2003) in the case of railway school teachers/ staff for undertaking scouts and guides activities has been under consideration of the Ministry of Railways.

2.     It has been decided in consultation with the Ministry of Human Resource Development (Department of Secondary & Higher Education) and the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions (Department of Personnel & Training) that a railway servant serving in a railway school shall be entitled to Leave on Average Pay under and subject to provisions of Rule 525(3) of IREC Vol.I, fifth Edition-1985 (second reprint edition-2003) in respect of the vacation or a portion thereof not availed/ foregone for undertaking scouts and guides activities as per orders of the competent authority.

3.     These orders shall take effect from the date of issue of this letter.

4.     This issues with the concurrence of Finance Directorate of the Ministry of Railways.
