RBE No. 139/1985: D&A Rules – Supervision Over Rest Houses

Sub: Tightening up of supervision over Rest Houses, etc.

1. A case has come to notice of the Board where a young women was adduced by certain Railway staff and taken up to a Class-IV Rest House where she was subjected to rape and subsequently murdered.
2. The Railway Board desire that supervision should be tightened up over the railway rest houses, retiring rooms, waiting rooms, running rooms, etc. so that these and other places are not misused by Railway servants with criminal intent.
