RBE No. 04/1998: IREM – Amendment to Para 1125 – Festival Advance – ACS No. 37

Sub: Festival advance – Change in the Pay limit and the amount of advance.

1. Reference Ministry of Railway’s letter No.E(LL)/92/FA-1, dated 21.01.1992 (RBE No. 09/1992) in pursuance of the decision taken by the Government on the Fifth Pay Commission’s recommendation relating to Festival Advance, the President is pleased to decide that non-gazetted employees who are in receipt of basic pay not exceeding Rs.8300 (Eight Thousand Three Hundred) per month shall be eligible for Festival Advance and the amount of Advance shall be increased from the existing Rs.600 (Six Hundred) to Rs.1500 (One Thousand Fifteen Hundred).
2. These orders are effective from 11.12.1997. However, the cases where the advances have been sanctioned under the provisions of earlier rules need not be reopened.
3. The Other terms and conditions remain unchanged.
4. Advance Correction Slip No. 37 to Para 1125 of the Indian Railway Establishment Manual Vol-I (Revised Edition 1989) is also include for necessary action.
