Sub: Ad-hoc promotion to Senior Scale in Law Department.
1. Attention is invited to Board’s letter of even number dt. 28.12.2018 (RBE No.205/2018) wherein instructions were issued that Group ‘B’ officers of Law Department, when promoted to Senior Scale on ad-hoc basis, may be allowed to draw pay in Senior Scale [GP Rs.6600/- (pre-revised)/ Level-11 as per 7th CPC], as may be admissible under the normal rules on completion of 6 years of regular service in Group ‘B’, as prescribed in the revised Recruitment Rules.
2. References in this regard have been received from few Railways seeking clarification regarding the date from which the benefits are to be accorded as per the above mentioned instructions. The matter has been examined in consultation with the Finance Directorate and it is advised that the benefit of pay in Senior Scale in accordance with the instructions dated 28.12.2018 (RBE No.205/2018) may be given to only those officers who have been promoted against the vacancies occurring on and after the notification of Revised Recruitment Rules on 22.12.2017 and on fulfilling the conditions laid down, therein.
