Promotion from Gp. ‘C’ to Gp. ‘B’ – Question Paper

Sub: Introduction of 100% objective type multiple choice questions in written examinations held as part of Selections/LDCEs for promotion from Group ‘C’ to Gr. ‘B’ posts in all Departments except Accounts.

Ref:  Board’s letter nos.E(GP)2015/2/8, dated 28.11.2016 (RBE No. 142/2016), E(GP)2018/2/31, dated 19.03.2019 (RBE No. 53/2019) and 28.11.2019.

1.     In terms of instructions contained in Board’s letter no.E(GP)2018/2/31, dt. 19.03.2019 (RBE No. 53/2019), the question papers of written examinations held as part of Selections/ LDCEs including pre-qualifying examination of LDCEs for promotion to Group ‘B’ posts are to be set up by PHOD of the concerned Department of the Railway and evaluation of the answer sheets is to be carried out by an SAG officer of the concerned Department nominated by the General Manager. It has now been decided by the Board that nomination of PHOD of the concerned Department from any other Railway/ Production Unit may be made for setting up of these Question papers, if considered desirable by the General Manager, in consultation with the General Manager of the concerned Railway/ Production Unit.

2.     These instructions take effect from the date of issue of this letter.
