Productivity Linked Bonus: RBE No.160/1985 – Payment of PLB for the year 1983-84

Sub: Payment of Bonus for the year 1983-84 under Productivity Linked Bonus Scheme.

1. With reference to certain doubts raised by some Railway Administrations, it is clarified that since Class-I probationers draw wages on a regular scale of pay, they are eligible for payment of bonus under PLB Scheme, provided their wages do not exceed Rs.1600 p.m. Apprentices who are not appointed to a regular post but are only in receipt of stipend are not Railway servants yet and, therefore, are not eligible for PLB. Trainees are eligible for payment of PLB, only if they are paid against a regular scale of pay while on training, Trainees in receipt of stipend are, however, not eligible for PLB.

2. This issues with the concurrence of the Finance Directorate of the Ministry of Railways.
